Paul S. Richardson, Author

Paul S. Richardson is a descendent of the first non-native child born on Mount Desert Island. An active member of the community his entire life, Paul embarked on the project of writing a comprehensive history of the development of Acadia National Park at the beginning of his retirement. His unique perspective of the Park, as a resident growing up during its construction and as a student of history, makes this book a must-read for residents and visitors alike to Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park.

Born in Otter Creek, Paul and his wife Dorothy (whom he researched this book with) raised their family in this lovely village, abutting Acadia National Park. Paul still lives there today, gardening, playing tennis and giving lectures on the history of Acadia National Park.
